Conference 2011
SCHOLAR Conference 2011 – Overview
The conference has become an integral part of SCHOLAR’s contribution to Scottish education. It gives teachers and educationalists an opportunity to learn about the continuing progress of the programme and how it can add value for both teachers and pupils, particularly on the introduction of Curriculum for Excellence.
The 2011 conference "Technology for Learning" focused on how educational technology can improve the student experience and retain a broad curriculum in schools and Colleges against the financially challenging environment. We also unveiled the results of the LTS supported evaluation of SCHOLAR.
The conference also provided a great opportunity for teachers to engage with the SCHOLAR team and ask any questions they may have about technology enhanced learning and how it can best help within the classroom and beyond.
The conference was structured to ensure that all delegates, irrespective of their subject discipline or background in e-learning, will benefit from the day. Our speakers provided a stimulating and provoking view from inside and outside the classroom. There was also ample opportunity to network with colleagues during the day.
Participants were drawn from schools, Scotland’s Colleges, Education Authorities, TTIs, HMIe, Scottish Government, LTS and SQA, with wider representation from industry and other stakeholders with an interest in improving Scottish education.
This year you were also able to follow SCHOLAR on Twitter @SCHOLARuk and Tweet about the 2011 Conference using the hashtag #SCHOLAR11
