Pupil Induction
These events will be arranged in the period August through to October, however, some events run at other times. The recommendation is that a school selects a date, as early as possible in the academic session, to enable pupils to get maximum benefit from SCHOLAR.
The event will be arranged for a day and at a time which suits the school.
A pupil induction generally lasts for half a day, so it will take place in the morning or afternoon of the chosen day. Over the years a variety of approaches to delivering these events have emerged and are described below.
At each event, regardless of format, a pupil induction will include:
- The structure of the SCHOLAR site and navigation
- Using materials effectively for revision
- The assessment and reporting system
- The discussion boards
- The revision planner
- The search facility.
